From the delightfully demented mind of writer, director, & goth musician R.J. De León Vega comes "Pumpkin Guts: Devil’s Night," a 2024 horror/slasher short film. This short is an extracted scene from the feature-length "Pumpkin Guts" screenplay, serving both as a bite-sized standalone horror story and a proof of concept for a future slasher feature film and eventual series. For now, Think of it as a fun-sized candy bar… with razor blades hidden inside, of course -offering a taste of the deliciously macabre delights to come.

excerpt of the director’s statement, featured in the film’s original GoFundMe campaign

Pumpkin Guts: Devil’s Night was shot over the course of two nights, December 8-9, with the cast and crew working tirelessly to capture the chilling story in a whirlwind 48-hour period.

In the original screenplay of Pumpkin Guts, Jacqueline Graves is described as wearing a pumpkin mask, her face hidden behind the eerie glow of a carved jack-o'-lantern. This macabre mask, with its jagged grin and hollow eyes, adds a terrifying and iconic visual to her vengeful spirit

In Pumpkin Guts: devil’s night (2024), Jacqueline Graves (Josie Hull) wears a tattered sack mask as a haunting symbol of her tragic past. The mask, which Jacqueline crafted herself, represents her transformation from an innocent victim into a vengeful spirit. It serves to conceal her identity while amplifying the fear she instills in her victims.
